This decision marks a departure from the trend of exclusive streaming platform releases, aiming to make the concert accessible to a broader audience.
Dennis Arfa, Billy Joel's agent, spoke with Newsday about the intention behind this inclusive approach. "We wanted to reach as many people as possible in every economic and age demographic as we possibly can," Arfa explained. The goal is to showcase the Piano Man's achievements to "people around the country and around the world."
The special will air on CBS on April 14th. Additionally, the special will be available on Paramount+.
